The Corylus avellana is a shrub who grows to a considerable width when it is not pruned. The ‘Rode Zeller' is a self-pollinating filbert, so one shrub is enough to give fruit in autumn.
What makes it so popular is that it keeps its ornamental value troughout the year. This is thanks to the branches, leaves and the nuts.
It produces a lot of hazelnuts so it is the perfect shrub!
