The Common Hazel is usually around 1,5m (five feet) tall. It's a deciduous shrub that is very common in Central Europe. It is known for its edible fruit, hazelnuts.
The hazelnut usually grows as much stockier, upright shrub from 1.5m-2m (five to six meters) in height. In rare cases, it grows as a tree and then to 2.5m (ten feet) high.
