Phormium tenax Variegatum - New Zealand flax
Phormium tenax variegatum is known as New Zealand flax. its beautiful, long leafblades will bring additional colour to your garden. New Zealand flax prefers a sheltered spot in your garden with full sun or half shade. A rich, well drained soil will help the plant grow properly too. Make sure that the soil is not too wet during winter. It is often placed in city gardens due to its drought resistance. After warm summers, New Zealand flax can even flower, though this is rare in northern Europe.
