Akebia quinata - Chocolate vine
A fast-growing vine with beautiful, green, round leaves. The underside of the leaves have a bluish-green colour and have a purple hue in winter. It produces spicy, brown purple coloured flowers that smell like vanilla.
After a long hot summer, the 12cm (4 inch) long, sausage-shaped, edible fruits appear, which ripen in early autumn.
