Many people who already have a Trachycarpus fortunei, later also want the Trachycarpus wagnerianus. The Trachycarpus wagnerianus is as hardy as the Trachycarpus fortunei, but there are some visible differences:
- The Trachycarpus wagnerianus is much more wind-resistant than the Trachycarpus fortunei because it has more rigid leaves. That is why the Trachycarpus Wagnerianus is recommended for windy positions in the garden.
- The leaves of the Trachycarpus wagnerianus are darker green, more compact and more rounded. This gives the Wagnerianus a more elegant look and is therefore used more in exclusive (Japanese) gardens. - The Trachycarpus wagnerianus is an easy-to-keep palm that grows well under all conditions - even in cool and humid weather! It will also be happy in full sun or shade.
