Fatsia japonica Variegata - Finger plant
The popular Fatsia japonica (Japanese aralia) is surprisingly resistant to frost. Even so, it is a true jungle plant that grows into a highly architectural shrub of around 4 m tall within a few years.
Although it is a popular houseplant, it will also thrive outdoors in your garden, as a container plant or in the ground. Only the leaves need some protection during heavy frost. The plant is happy both inland and near the sea and tolerates all kinds of soil. It needs little water and likes to be pruned back now and then.
