Fatsia japonica - Finger plant
The popular, attractive and easily grown finger plant is suprisingly resistant to frost. And yet it's a real 'Jungle plant', growing in a few short years to a highly architecural shrub of around 4m height (12 feet). Popular as an indoor plant, it will thrive outdoors in your garden too, in tub or planted out, only needing some leaf protection against hard frosts. It's happy inland or near the sea, and tolerates all sorts of soil, needs moderate watering and likes being sprayed now and then.
