Acer palmatum 'Beni-maiko' is a dwarf Japanese maple with bright scarlet spring foliage, becoming greener in summer and dark red in autumn. 'Beni Maiko' grows 2 meters (6 feet) in 10 years. Mature plants are not expected to exceed 8 feet (2.5 feet). Its small size makes it an ideal container plant, or a focal point in a small garden.
Best in a sheltered position with protection against drying winds, and in partial shade to prevent leaf scorching.
