Brighten up your garden with this colourful 'Gold Heart'. This easy to maintain yucca has sword-like leaves which are sturdy, but not sharp. The leaves have bright yellow centres, which gives them a cheerful look. And if that is not enough, it produces creamy coloured flowers that can reach up to 1 metre 60 (5 feet). Like many Yuccas, the 'Gold Heart' is easy to maintain. It requires little water and prefers a well drained soil. Place it in the full sun, and this plant is very likely to survive! This plant is very hardy in winter, and will usually survive without any problems, except during very cold winters. Young plants may need some protection. It prefers slightly alkaline soil. It is recommended to remove the flower stem as soon as the yucca is done flowering, and make sure to remove bad looking leaves. This is to prevent rot, particuarly during rainy days.
