Cordyline plants originate mainly in Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia and Polynesia. They are often called Cabbage tree. They are very decorative and exotic plants that grow fast. A Cordyline can double in volume in just a year time, as long as it has not formed a trunk yet.
Cordyline plants are not picky; they grow well in both sun and shade and they are very wind resistant. They prefer avoiding severe frosts. Cordylines are well suited for a garden or as a potted plant.
