Opuntia microdasys, also known as the 'bunny ears' cactus due to its flat discs with dense growth of glochidia. A very characteristic cactus originally from Mexico. European climates are generally too cold, but Opuntia is well suited as an interior plant. They can grow up to 1 metre tall with discs growing from 7-15 cm long. Beautiful yellow flowers appear in summer, giving the cactus a very cheerful look. Opuntia cacti are well suited for pruning - just make sure to wear protection when cutting off discs.
Opuntia microdasys is very easy in maintenance - its only requirement is a lot of sun. Perfect for a sunny spot at your office or interior to give it a more exotic look. Opuntia microdasys Albispina has white spines.
