Musa laterita is a banana named after laterite, a brick-coloured type of soil. This is due to its brick-red coloured bract leaves. It has a tin trunk with long thin outer leaves with a light green colour. The leaves tend to remain upright.
Musa laterita loves getting watered. It is vulnerable to frost, so make sure you keep it away from temperatures below 0C.
