Blue Angel, a variety of female Holly shrubs, is a common hedge plant with a nice ornamental value. With its glossy blue-green leaves, purple twigs, bright orange-red berries and white flowers, it makes a good looking edge. The leaves are pointed, but not sharp. The orange-red berries only appear when a male Holly such as the 'Blue Prince' is nearby.
It is completely winter hardy and evergreen. Blue Holly can be pruned quite easily in many shapes, but this is not neccesary. If you wish to do so, the pruning should be done in May.
