Diosma hirsuta Sunset Gold (confetti bush) is a small evergreen shrub with aromatic golden-green foliage. It grows densely with small, thin leaves and reaches around 40 cm in height and 50 cm width. The scent is similar to citrus. The foliage is covered in numerous small white flowers from March to June that turn pale pink near the end of the flowering period.
Diosma hirsuta Sunset Gold can be used as a potted plant for balconies or a terrace. It can function as a ground cover or a small hedge as well. It is drought resistant but dislikes wet soil.
Diosma hirsuta Sunset Gold is also called fisherman's plant as fishermen rubbed their hands through the shrub upon arriving back ashore. As a result, the smell of fish on their hands was replaced by the smell of citrus.
