Dicliptera suberecta, also known as Jacobinia suberecta, is a plant that originates in Uruguay. It is commonly refferred to as firecracker due to its typical flowers, which are bright red of colour and shapes like little tubes. Diclipteria suberecta can grow to a rich shrub of 60 cms. It is best placed in a border or as a container plant in a sheltered location. Prefers a dry spot in winter. It starts flowering in June and continues all summer long.
