This cypress is a real eye-catcher, with it's shell-like growth, slightly twisted branches and intense colours! Besides it's outward appearance, it's slow growth is appealing. You do not need to give this plant a lot of care so it's ideal for front-gardens, pots and tubs and municipal planting. At a young age this plant is fairly rotund. Over time, the shape changes into a cone-like shape.
The shrub reaches a height of up to 3 m (9 feet) and a width of up to 2 m (6 feet). It needs acidic to neutral, nutrient-rich, well drained and sandy to loamy soil. In dry periods it should be watered regularly, but waterlogging should be avoided.
