Brahea elegans is a strange Brahea. Itsoriginal habitat is not known and it is actually only known as a cultivated species in California. Some think that it is a variety of Brahea aculeata possibly crossed with a Brahea brandegeei, but given the slow growth speed of this Brahea this is not really imaginable. This Brahea elegans is characterized by its slow growth, is more sensitive to cold than other Brahea's and has softer leaves whose tips hang elegantly.
