Actinidia chinensis Hayward is a kiwi plant with large and delicious kiwis, which should be pruned in January. In April-July you can cut the long 1 year old shoots to about 15 cm (1/2 foot) past the last fruit. During the growing season, the kiwi needs a lot of compost.
