This palm grows in open areas to approximately 20m (60 feet) tall, and the trunk is used to build bungalows.
Fruits are blacks and ovoids when mature, seeds ovoids, germinate easily if fresh.
Not well known in cultivation, this palm is the coldest resistance of all Copernicias. It is easy to care for and doesn't need much light.
In its natural situation, it's possible to see populations with grey and green leaves. Furthermore, there are many known variations (ecotypes) in the form and size of the trunk or/and size and form of the leaves and petioles.
Habitat is Paraguay and Argentina, also some parts of Brazil and Bolivia
